Our Story at AGTP Window Films
Tucson Sun Control Built on Craftsmanship, Innovation, and Trust
At AGTP Window Films, our work has always started with one very real local problem: the desert sun. For 37 years, we have helped homeowners, business owners, contractors, and vehicle owners reduce heat, glare, fading, and energy waste with high-quality window film and solar control solutions. Based in Tucson, AGTP Window Films was built to protect interiors, lower energy costs, and make indoor spaces more comfortable using commercial-grade materials and expert installation. Our mission is simple: solve sun control problems with honesty, precision, and craftsmanship that lasts.
Built to Handle the Desert Sun
AGTP Window Films was born from a desire to take on intense heat and sun damage head-on. We knew property owners were dealing with high energy bills, uncomfortable rooms, faded floors, damaged furniture, hot vehicles, and glare that made everyday spaces harder to enjoy.
We also knew not every product could survive our desert climate. Cheap materials may look fine at first, but under strong sun exposure, they can bubble, fade, peel, or fail long before they should.
That is why we built our company around quality from the beginning. We use high-quality, commercial-grade materials designed to stand up to demanding conditions, and we install them with the care and precision every project deserves.
Meet Greg Spencer, Also Known as Greg The Tinter
AGTP is owned and operated by founder Greg Spencer, also known as Greg The Tinter. Greg is bonded, insured, certified, and an Arizona licensed contractor. He is also a native of the area and has worked in the window film industry for more than 41 years.
Greg founded AGTP in 1988 and has built a strong reputation as a hands-on expert who can handle both everyday installations and unusually complex sun control challenges. His sharp eye for detail, practical problem-solving, and direct supervision have helped AGTP become a trusted name in residential, commercial, and specialty window film work.
When customers hire AGTP, they are getting more than a product. They are getting decades of experience, real technical knowledge, and a team that refuses to cut corners.
What Makes AGTP Window Films Different
We believe our difference comes down to three things: experience, materials, and craftsmanship.
First, we bring 37 years of specialized local experience through AGTP, backed by Greg’s more than 41 years in the industry. That kind of knowledge matters when choosing the right film, solving heat issues, and installing products that need to last.
Second, we refuse to use subpar materials. Our customers are investing in comfort, protection, and energy efficiency, and we believe they deserve products that can truly perform.
Third, we focus on doing the job right the first time. Our team is made up of perfectionists who care about clean lines, proper preparation, smooth installation, and finished results that look as good as they perform.
Residential Window Film for Comfort and Protection
For homeowners, window film can make a noticeable difference in daily comfort. It helps reduce heat, soften glare, protect flooring and furniture from UV damage, and improve energy efficiency.
Many of our residential customers come to us because certain rooms become too hot, windows create harsh glare, or interiors are starting to fade. We take the time to understand the problem, evaluate the glass and exposure, and recommend a tailored solution.
Our goal is never to sell a one-size-fits-all product. Our goal is to help homeowners enjoy cooler, more comfortable spaces with long-lasting protection.
Commercial Sun Control Solutions
AGTP Window Films has handled commercial projects of many sizes, from independent businesses to major institutions. Our commercial portfolio includes work at Biosphere 2, Tucson International Airport, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, the University of Arizona, Raytheon Corporation, Tilly’s Tempe Marketplace, PetSmart, JCPenney, U.S. Marshal offices, U.S. Customs Services, CashTime Loans, and TitleMax.
These projects reflect our ability to work across industries, property types, and technical requirements. Businesses choose us because we understand that window film is not just about appearance. It can support energy savings, employee comfort, customer experience, privacy, security, and long-term property protection.
Diffuse-A-Lite: A Skylight Sun Control Innovation
Greg’s drive for innovation led to the development of the Diffuse-A-Lite system, a skylight diffuser solution designed for internal sun control on domed and flat skylights.
After more than 10 years of research and development, Greg brought Diffuse-A-Lite to market as the world’s first and finest internal sun control filter system for skylights.
Skylights can create serious heat and glare problems, especially in homes and commercial buildings with direct sun exposure. Diffuse-A-Lite helps solve those problems by filtering light, reducing harshness, and improving indoor comfort without removing the benefits of natural daylight.
Our Promise to Every Customer
Our promise is complete satisfaction through honest service and expert craftsmanship. We arrive on schedule, communicate clearly, treat each property with respect, and use materials we trust.
We don’t consider a project finished until our customer is completely happy with the results. That mindset guides everything from the first conversation to the final inspection.
If you are dealing with heat, glare, fading interiors, high energy bills, uncomfortable rooms, or skylight problems, we are here to help find the right solution.
